Heartbreaking Death of Filipina Wife in Slovenia: Husband Held After Fatal Attack

Death of Filipina Wife in Slovenia

A tragic incident unfolded in Bled, Slovenia, when 30-year-old Slovenian motivational speaker Mitja Kocjančič allegedly killed his Filipina wife, Marvil Facturan-Kocjančič, just seven days after she arrived in the country. Marvil, a 28-year-old woman from the Philippines, had traveled to Slovenia on December 22, 2024, to spend the holidays with her husband. The couple had married earlier that year after getting engaged in July. Sadly, their story ended in heartbreak when Marvil was found dead in their apartment on Sunday.

Reports said neighbors heard screams coming from the apartment but didn’t call the police. Investigations revealed that Marvil had suffered bruises in the past before being fatally stabbed. After the incident, Mitja was taken to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation. Known as a motivational speaker focusing on mental health and obesity, Mitja had previously shared on social media that he had overcome personal struggles. His posts about enjoying Christmas with Marvil and his family, including captions like “Life is good!” now seem deeply unsettling given the tragedy.

Marvil’s grieving family is now demanding justice for her untimely death. Many people online have expressed their anger and sadness over what happened. Some pointed out the risks faced by women in international relationships, with comments like, “You thought marrying a foreigner was a blessing, but it led to this.” The incident has highlighted the importance of recognizing signs of abuse and protecting those who may be in harm’s way.
